Paint a Bumblebee Design on Your Nails

Do you love fun, spunky, bubbly nail designs? Painting a bumblebee pattern on your nails is one great way to create a fun and popping look to impress all your friends!

Steps

  1. Apply a clear coat first. With a base coat, paint over all of your nails. Make sure all your nails are a good shape and are clean from old nail polish.
  2. With a yellow nail polish of your choice, paint all of your nails with the color. You may want to paint two coats to make it brighter; check after applying the first coat before deciding. Wait until the yellow nail polish has completely dried before proceeding to the next step.
  3. Use black nail polish to paint stripes on top of the yellow nails. Use a skinny tip black nail polish brush or pen. You can make the the strips as thick/wide as you desire, provided they're obvious stripes and the yellow has space to shine through.
  4. Let your nails dry for at least 10-15 minutes. Watch TV or read a magazine to pass the time.
  5. Add some glitter if you want. Although optional, this effect makes it look more girly and it really pops out.
  6. Paint on a thin top clear coat once you're all done and let it dry completely.
  7. Enjoy your new preppy, fun, funky nail design!



Tips

  • Make sure any nail polish is completely removed before you start. Use strengthening nail polish remover for best results.
  • Black sparkle glitter has a cool effect on the nails.
  • Use short strokes.
  • If you're really keen on reshaping your nails, try to achieve this "sting" look with your nails by cutting each nail into the shape of a sting. You may find this annoying when you type and work with your hands though; perhaps just use it for a fancy dress occasion.
