Put Songs on an iPod With Limewire
There are several ways to put songs on your iPod. Limewire is a music download service that makes it easy. However, if you are going to download copyrighted music (virtually everything), it is against the law in most countries.
Steps
- Download Limewire.
- Exit out of other programs. Open Limewire.
- Go to Limewire>Preferences>iTunes>Importing. Check the box next to "Enable iTunes importing". Now Limewire will automatically add songs to iTunes in a playlist named "Limewire".
- Another way is to manually drag and drop songs from your Limewire library to your iTunes library.
- Select "Audio" and enter information regarding song(s) into the information fields.
- Highlight a song by clicking on it and press the green arrow to download. Wait for the songs to download.
- Open iTunes. Your new songs will be added momentarily.
- Connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cord.
- Add the songs to your iPod.
- Eject your iPod and disconnect.
- Listen to your new songs!
Tips
- Make sure that your computer has an internet connection when you are downloading a song.
- Sometimes Limewire can run quite slowly and affect other programs also. To help with this go to Limewire>Preferences>Saving>Downloads and limit the maximum downloads. Also, when searching and no new songs have appeared for a while click "Stop Search".
- Songs with a greater number of hits will take less time to download.
Warnings
- Limewire the program is not illegal, it is only illegal if you download copyrighted materials. There are Choose a P2P Client too.
- Avoid downloading viruses from Limewire. Stick to audio files only and avoid low file sizes.
