Remix a Song with Mixcraft 3

Many people enjoy seeing what songs are with with different sounds(Beats,Sound Effects etc.). This is commonly called remixing and it can be enjoyable, fun, and rewarding. Here is how you can do it with Mixcraft 3 for Windows or Mac.

Steps

  1. Select a song. This is important because you need to put the song on the beat. To do this you import the track by hitting the "Add a Sound" button at the top of the tool bar.(On the toolbar it looks like a music note)
  2. Turn the Snap off. To do this go up to the top of your tool bar and change "Snap 1/4" to "Snap Off". In doing so you don't have to split and join using every beat you can put the track anywhere.
  3. Dissect the Track. Split and join parts. (To split , mark the point in the song by clicking on it and hit ctrl T and to join hit ctrl J.)
  4. After the track is dissected, the auto beat match will take place and will find a beat for the song. Go to the Sound Library, download sounds and put them into the mix.
  5. The more sounds you add at the tempo of your project, the better.(See Tips)
  6. Play on Acoustica Mixcraft and if you like it save it as an MP3 file type.
  7. Import into Windows Movie Maker and Click Save Movie File under the file menu. After it saves, log on to YouTube and create an account.
  8. Create an account and hit "Upload" to upload a video
  9. Select the video and upload away
  10. You are Done! Try making it into a slide show and post it on YouTube to see what others think!

Tips

  • Go to the Project bar at the bottom of the screen to add effects (chorus, delay etc.)
  • Making small edits is good for your first remix.
  • Make sure the sounds you add fit the song. Some beats don't work for some styles of music.
  • Don't try adding too much because it can make it sound to busy. (Such as adding vibe hop beat , Techno Drums, Car Crash and Acoustica Chorus all at the same time.)
  • Post it on YouTube to see if people like it.
  • When remixing, try using a vibe hop beat. This will work for most tracks that have a beat of 70 beats per minute of faster.
  • Use other tracks for additional sounds for vocals and music. This will make the remix better and take work off of your shoulder.

Warnings

  • Do not take risk in editing in any other related software if doesn't have terms of use!
  • Don't take credit for work that isn't yours!
