Speak Without Spitting Saliva

Spitting saliva as you speak can be an embarrassing problem, but it is reversible. This article provides some ideas on how to reduce the possibility of this happening.

Steps

  1. Practice in front of a mirror. This also helps with conquering lisps, stuttering, and most other speech problems.
  2. Tell yourself you are going to fix the problem. Self motivation is big in this.
  3. Always swallow before you speak. This almost always eliminates most of the problem.
  4. Don't speak too fast. Speaking fast always increases the risk of spitting.
  5. Always be confident! Being confident and believing in yourself is the key to getting over any problem (except overconfidence).

Tips

  • Don't eat foods while speaking; your body produces saliva to break your food down.
  • Do not talk if someone is eating something that you want, your mouth will produce saliva.
  • As stated above, always swallow before you speak.
  • Practice makes perfect.
  • Try not to talk while eating, this worsens the problem.
  • Don't deny it if someone tells you that you have done it, as then they will avoid you because they don't want to be spat on.

Warnings

  • Avoid talking a lot during the first week of trying to correct this problem.
