Style Your Hair Like Nina Dobrev

Nina Dobrev is famous for playing Elena Gilbert on the "The Vampire Diaries". She has gorgeous hair, so it's no wonder you want to learn how to style your hair like hers.

Steps

  1. Keep it natural. Try to keep your hair looking as natural as possible, because Nina's hair is very natural whether she is going to awards evenings or just going out to the beach. Don't be afraid to use your natural texture, be it straight or curly. Just make sure to use some bb cream to keep your hair silky, soft, and frizz-free.

  2. Straighten your hair. Nina wears her hair down and straight very often, so invest in a good-quality hair straightener. Use some heat protectant before straightening to keep your hair from getting fried. Straighten small sections at a time to make sure that they're super-straight. Don't worry if your hair doesn't look perfect; Nina isn't one of those types of girls anyway.
  3. Try loose curls. You can also do loose curls, but make sure they are not too defined and that they look natural. Use a large-barrel curling iron and only straighten a few inches at the bottom of your hair. If they're not loose enough, run your fingers through them a couple times.
  4. Do tighter curls. For special occasions (Nina wears this look on the red carpet), use a small or medium-barrel curling iron and curl your hair, starting closer to the scalp this time. When you're done, spritz your hair with hairspray to lock in the curls.
  5. Experiment with some updos. Nina Dobrev also has beautiful updos which, again, all look very natural. A side ponytail, a high messy bun, and a ballerina bun look really good. Keep it natural by leaving some pieces of hair out on the side of your face and curling them loosely, as well as loosely curling your hair before you put it into a ponytail.
  6. Try some braids/plaits. To spice things up a bit, experiment with different braids, such as French braids, Dutch braids, etc.

Tips

  • Try growing out your hair below your shoulders to make the final product look more like Nina's hair.
  • Use a heat protector to stop your hair from getting damaged.
  • Although it's not necessary, you could also dye your hair dark brown like Nina's if you want.
