Turn a Seaeagle 370 Into a Self Bailing Class III+ Whitewater Boat

Turn the Seaeagle 370 (or 330) into a self-bailing, seats firmly attached, class 3+ whitewater boat.

Steps

  1. Purchase a 100% natural rubber washer 3/8" x 2 1/4" x 1/8*" (*just about any diameter will do- if you can find 1 1/4" skip step 2).
  2. Purchase a 1 1/4" Hole Saw.
  3. Tape down the rubber washer to a board.
  4. Drill a 1 1/4" hole in the center of the washer IN REVERSE.
  5. Rough the surface of the washer with sandpaper.
  6. Trim the edges of the washer.
  7. Lay the washer in between the floor and side pontoons of the boat as a template and draw a circle and X to mark where to cut.
  8. Rough the surface inside the drawn circle.
  9. Drill a pilot hole in the middle of the "X".
  10. Drill the hole with the hole saw *IN REVERSE!*. Also...BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO HIT ANY INFLATABLE PART OF THE RAFT!
  11. Cut the remaining material out with scissors.
  12. Glue the washer onto the raft with Sta-Bond glue. Some sort of clamp highly recommended. USE A VENTILATOR MASK or do this outside. These fumes will burn your eyes, mouth, nose, throat, and give you a huge headache and sore throat that will last for days. You've been warned.
  13. Repeat steps 1-12 Twelve (12) times. Six holes on each side.
  14. 14. (Optional) Cut the skegs off with a large serrated knife. This helps with directional control. Be sure not to cut too deep into the inflatable part of the raft.
  15. Use roof straps to strap down the seats.
  16. (Optional) Remove the spray guards. You and the boat will be getting wet.
  17. (Optional) Add rope to where the spray guards were.
