Use Google to Search Within a Specific Website

Google is the largest and the most popular search engine in the world. It offers a lot of features you may not know about. For example, you can use Google to search for something only within a particular website.

Steps

  1. Go to Google Search. You can also do this from your search bar in most browsers.
  2. Precede your query with site. If you know you want your answer from within a specific site or type of site (.org, .edu), type site:website.com any topic. For example: site:edu canine care or site:wikihow.com how to treat diabetes in cats.
  3. Add a date if desired. Just type in site:website.com Topic Year. For example, you could type, site:wikihow.com Twitter 2017.

Tips

  • If your favorite site has subdomains, don't add www. at the start after site:.
