Use a Daruma Good Luck Doll
The Japanese traditional amulet toy which swings. The Japanese say "it falls down 7 times and gets up 8 times." As such, it's a symbol of revival and "never giving up". It is believed to bring good luck to the owner and this how you use it.
Steps
- Buy your Daruma doll in the beginning of a new year. At this stage the doll has eyes without pupils.
- Fill in the left eye of the Daruma, while concentrating on your wish.
- Place your Daruma in your house altar. If unavailable, give it another prominent place.
- Add the right eye when and if the wish comes true.
Tips
- Daruma dolls are sold via the internet. Google "daruma" or "daruma doll"
- A picture of a daruma doll may also be used as a form of time management: when a new project or task is started, the left eye is colored. When the project or task is completed the right eye is colored. In the meantime the picture is displayed prominently as a constant reminder of the task.
- Daruma dolls come in various colors. This is what they mean:
- Black:chasing away evil and a successful year
- Template:Blue: personal achievement and success
- Template:Brown: wealth
- Template:Green:good health and vitality
- Template:Orange: success in school
- Template:Pink:blessing in love, marriage and giving birth
