Use the Sponge Tool in Photoshop
The sponge tool is an amazing but not a well known tool that is incredibly useful. It allows you to chose a brush to desaturate or saturate a certain area on a picture. For those of you who do not know, desaturate is to take color away and to saturate is to add more color or brighten a picture.
Steps
- Open photoshop and the photo that you would like to edit.
- Go to the burn or dodge tool on the toolbar.
- Right click and select the sponge tool.
- Choose your brush in on the toolbar were you usually change brushes.
- Select saturate or desaturate and adjust the exposure.
- Draw over any of the areas that you want to be adjusted.
- You're done! Now go and add more color or take away color to your hearts desire!
Tips
- Make sure to not just click the spot you want to desaturate or saturate, you may need to click more until you notice more change.
- Don't go too crazy with the exposure too little and you will never get a change and too much and you will cause too much change!
