Watch ESPN Online

ESPN is a premier sports network available in the US. They own the exclusive rights to broadcast certain sports leagues on cable TV. Watching live streaming on ESPN requires you to have a cable network subscription, or you can watch clips for free. You can learn how to watch ESPN online, using the methods below.

Steps

ESPN with Cable Subscription

  1. Call your cable provider, if you have one. Ask for an online login, if you have not already.
  2. Inquire whether your service provides you online access to ESPN.
    • Although you may know already, many cable subscribers do not know the full list of online streaming available through their subscription.
  3. Ask for an access point, such as a website, for streaming ESPN, if it is separate from ESPN.com.
    • If you subscribe to Verizon FiOS, Brighthouse Networks or Time Warner Cable, your login should allow you to access the online streaming on the ESPN website.

ESPN Website Streaming

  1. Go to espn.go.com/video/ to watch clips for free. This portion of the ESPN website does not require a sign in name.
    • Scroll and select clips on that page. You can expand each clip to full screen.
  2. Go to WatchESPN to stream game replays. You may be able to access some games the morning after they air. In order to watch ESPN live streaming, you will need a subscription or a live account.
  3. Watch live streaming through WatchESPN, if you have a cable TV subscription. You should see a list of upcoming events that will be streamed live.
    • Click on an event from the blue "Watch Now" link. Select your cable provider from the drop down list. Enter your cable subscriber information and login to access the content. This will allow you to access ESPN's Gamecast with video and statistics available or other shows that are available for streaming.
    • WatchESPN, provides limited live streaming from their channels ESPN3, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN2, WESPN and ESPNU.
  4. Look up a schedule of all live streaming events that will be available on WatchESPN.com.

  2. Go to the iTunes App store, if you are using an iPhone, iPad or another Apple device. Download the WatchESPN app.
    • Open the App and type in your cable provider online account details. You cannot access the live streaming on these applications unless you have a participating cable provider.
