Access an HTC Incredible SD Card

The HTC Droid Incredible is a phone that offers numerous features, but it may be difficult to understand how to get to your SD card. If you've had trouble accessing those files, follow these steps to know how to access Droid Incredible SD card. You can learn how to change phone settings to view photos on your SD card from your phone and determine how to access the SD card from your PC to add and remove music, photos, videos, and other files.

Steps

  1. Connect your phone to your computer. Use the USB cable that came with the charger when you purchased your phone. To enable photos on the SD card to be seen from the phone, follow the steps below.
    • Open the "Notification Panel" on the phone. Do this by touching and dragging the status bar down. The status bar is located at the top of the phone where the time and other symbols are featured.
    • Check what option is selected. You should see "Charge only," "HTC Sync," "Disk drive," and "Mobile Broadband Connect." Touch and select the "Charge only" option if it isn't already
  2. Go to your photos. You should be able to see any photos you have saved on your HTC Droid Incredible SD card.
  3. Use your USB cable provided with your phone to connect your phone to the computer. Access your Droid Incredible SD card files from your computer through the following steps.
    • Open the "Notification Panel" on the phone. Touch and drag the status bar down to do this.
    • Choose the "Disk drive" option. This will mount the phone as a hard drive on your computer, so you can find information on your Droid Incredible SD card.
    • Go to "My Computer," and choose the "drive" that represents your phone. Now you can see what files are on the SD card, as it is acting like a USB flash drive.
    • Add or remove files from your music player or photos based upon your initial reason for wanting to access the SD card.

Tips

  • The Droid Incredible will support up to 32GB of SD card memory. The SD card must be 2.0. Verizon may equip with the phone with a 2GB card.
  • The first time you connect your phone to the PC, it should automatically find the necessary drivers to recognize your phone, provided the PC is connected to the Internet. If it does not, contact either HTC support or Verizon support to find the solution.

Warnings

  • Applications can only be installed to the phone's internal memory and will not be stored on the SD card.
  • The Droid Incredible will not sync on a Mac computer due to driver issues.
