Act and Look Innocent (for Girls)

Innocent women are the embodiment of the “girl-next-door.” They are down-to-earth and wholesome. But more than how they appear, on the inside they are sweet and kind. They believe the world is good, and they try to be their best person!

Steps

Acting Innocent

  1. Be careful what you say. Sweet, innocent girls don't swear like sailors. They don't pick on people, or laugh at someone's misfortune or when someone gets hurt.
  2. Assume a quiet confidence. Rebel girls exude confidence. Innocent women, on the other hand, are quietly unaware of themselves. They can do what they want to do because they don't know or don't care that what they're doing might signal something. Don't try to draw attention to your actions, but instead be wholly yourself! You have a quiet beauty, allure, and power that is maximized when you don't show it off. For, in your eyes, it's not something to show off at all. Spread Kindness and Be a Wholesome American Girl.
  3. Be selfless. Try to be kind and help people out. Your innocence can manifest in a horror at atrocities and injustices, and a desire to Change the World.
  4. Appear transparent. When compared to mysterious “bad girls,” innocent women are refreshingly simple and accessible. Some may mistake this honesty for naivety, but, really, this should just be another reason to showcase your true self. Be down to earth, don't hide your feelings, and don't feel the need to pretend that you have everything figured out. Allow yourself to be vulnerable with others!
  5. Be smart. Listen in class, or pay attention at work. Show that you've been paying attention and care about your mind. Live with Being Jaded. The world is wide open to you, and everything is important and interesting! So of course you care to learn about anything and everything.
  6. Abstain from risky behavior. Innocent girls don’t behave in a socially unacceptable manner. These standards vary from culture to culture. In the United States, for example, this often means that you refrain from breaking the law, underage drinking, smoking, premarital sex, and any kind of drug use.
  7. Be childlike at heart. Remain true to your personality, and take pleasure in the simple aspects of life. Admire the world, and be as playful as you want.

Maximizing the Appeal of Innocence in a Relationship

  1. Commit to your partner. Remain loyal. This level of commitment is valued by partners seeking a serious, long term relationship.
  2. Don't be afraid to show a lack of experience. It can be a confidence boost for your partner, and it can be fun to have them teach you things. You may know many things, but not everything!
  3. Let your partner expand your horizons, or introduce something new into your life. While you should never compromise your values, don’t shy away from an opportunity to expand your horizons and take risks.

Looking Innocent

  1. Smile! Do it a lot, and make it real. It doesn't have to be a toothy grin, just a slight friendly upturning of your lips that eventually becomes second nature. Don't make your smile fake; think of something happy when you smile! It'll even rub off on your attitude eventually.
  2. Dress conservatively. A woman’s innocence is often reflected in her apparel. They choose to dress modestly, or conservatively. Instead of wearing clothing that reveals, or highlights, her feminine features, she chooses to cover her body. Modest fashion choices include:
    • Knee length skirts, dresses, and shorts
    • Tank tops layered underneath low cut tops
    • Maxi-skirts and dresses
    • Loose clothing[1]
  3. Avoid makeup or opt for a natural look|. Innocent women prefer a natural, girl-next-door look. If you enjoy applying it and it makes you feel good, go for it! But makeup is by no means necessary for an innocent girl.[2]
  4. Choose a light scent. Innocent women understand the power of fragrance, and prefer a delicate one. Try a light, feminine perfume.[3] {{greenbox: Warning: Some people can have allergic reactions to perfumes. While, no matter who you are, you don't need perfume to smell nice or seem innocent if you don't want it, be especially careful if you are allergic or you spend time around people who might be.}}
  5. Keep it simple. Your look shouldn't require a lot of effort or a lot of thought. You don't need many accessories or a lot of expensive jewelry. A few simple things are more than enough!

Tips

  • Innocence is not the same as a lack of intelligence.
  • If you appear too naive, people may try to take advantage of you. Be on your guard, and don't be afraid to let those people know that, even though you're innocent, you are still aware of what they're doing and won't let them do that to you. Don't let others take advantage of you. You are not a doormat.
