Adjust the Headlights of an Elantra XD
Simple headlight low beam replacement for Elantra XD (04). Turn on low beam on a white wall and check if you can see 2 distinct upper lines from the low beam. If you see a diffused - all over- light, then there is a
Steps
- Start with the driver side headlight.
- Remove the battery negative terminal - Then remove the battery positive terminal. Loosen the small nut on the positive terminal until the battery terminal cover lifts up.
- Remove the battery after removing the battery clamp on the front of the battery. Use a socket wrench with extension (8 inch) to remove the battery clamp
- Remove the 3 plastic screws on the headlight
- Remove the air filter clamp,
- Remove the shield which was held down by the 3 plastic screws and 1 bolt to the air filter
- Remove the 2 metal bolts on the headlight.
- Remove the 1 metal bolt at bottom of headlight assembly.
- Remove the side turn light
- Disconnect headlight wiring
- Remove the headlight assembly
- Unscrew the low beam (on outer side of car)dust cover and removed bulb
- Replace with a Silverstar Ultra 4300 K bulb. DO NOT touch bulb surface.
