Afford Popular Brands of Clothes

Do you ever look at other people and wonder how on earth they were able to buy a specific brand of jeans or shirt? Even when you know how much they make it just doesn't seem possible for them to be able to afford popular brand name clothing. Then you sit and figure that you make about the same, have the same expenses, so how can you get the same look on your income?

Steps

  1. Plan your purchases. Be sure to know exactly what you want beforehand.
  2. Look for sales in the store. Most stores have sales at predictable times throughout the year (Boxing week, Back to school). Some of the best deals you will find happen at the end of each fashion season which normally coincide with the Earth's season changes (March/June/September/December). This happens because name brand stores are trying to get rid of old inventory to make room for then new clothing. If in doubt, ask a clerk when the sales usually occur.
  3. Shop at discount or clearance stores.
  4. Use coupons. If you are shopping online, look for promotional coupons and codes, discount shopping, and standard online coupons.
  5. Check out second-hand stores and websites, yard sales and flea markets. No one needs to know you didn't buy brand new.
  6. Once you have found what you want, you might be able to haggle on the price if for example it is slightly damaged. Politely demand a reasonable discount. If an employee tells you they don't give extra discounts, ask to see the manager. Other times you might ask for a discount if they make you wait for a long period to when providing some service (other than having to wait in line to pay) Who knows you might save an extra 25%.

Tips

  • You don't need to buy all brand name clothes. Buy generic brands for items that aren't going to stand out, like the plain t-shirt you wear with those eye-catching jeans. Or the plain black heels that go with that amazing designer dress.
  • Check out the colours and style of clothes in reputable shops and then look for imitations in cheaper shops and/or sew a brand label of an expensive style onto cheaper brand eg jeans/surfwear!
