Afford Clothes and Accessories by Top Designers

Finding the latest runway looks can be easier and cheaper than you think. These days there are lots of top fashion designers producing apparel for the under $100 market - remember though, these will be their retail lines and NOT exactly what you see at the big fashion shows such as London Fashion week. Top Designers want the rich and famous wearing their clothing to maintain exclusivity. Angelina Jolie isn't going to wear a designer gown that can be purchased at the outlet mall.

Steps

  1. Determine your style. Designers are designers because they have worked hard to become skilled at creating clothing desired by people all over the world, their work differs greatly. Research and decide which designers you like best. Look at current designers and past designers as well.
  2. Determine which designer brands you want and make those your targets. Go to vintage and thrift store first (if applicable). Many times you can find vintage designer duds, but you must be diligent and frequent in your search (it will pay off).
  3. Go to Last Chance, Nordstrom's "Off the Rack", Marshall's, etc to search. Apparently you can find Versace jackets at Marshall's for much less than retail. If you have never heard of these stores, try second hand shops in big cities. A celebrity may have dropped off some designer items.
  4. Bluefly.com is also a good place to get high fashion for less than you would normally pay, but it can still be expensive.
  5. Peruse the outlet malls in your area.
  6. Save up. If you want to treat yourself to an off the peg designer item, it shouldn't take too long to save up. If you want a real designer item from a top fashion house, it may take a few years to save up.

Tips

  • Buy expensive items that will stand the test of time - go for classic looks not momentary fads.
