Appear Wealthy

Want to look like you belong in the Upper class? Have you ever wondered what it takes to 'look rich'?

Steps

  1. Have excellent hygiene. Clear, flawless skin is necessary. Use face wash and moisturizer every day to minimize breakouts and blemishes. Also, if you do have blemishes use concealer to cover it up.
  2. Have Gorgeous, Soft, Shiny Hair. Make sure you have the kind of hair that every girl wants to have and every guy wants to touch. Your hair should be soft, maybe wavy, and it's length should be medium to long. Natural hair is the best, but if you really have to dye it, make sure that you have no roots showing and that the dye job looks authentic.
  3. Have impeccable style. Watch Gossip Girl and pick up some style help. Blair, Serena, even Jenny- all have great 'rich girl' styles that you could pick up. Make sure that you don't wear 'branded' items like a Hollister tee that says 'Hollister' on it. Better yet, stay out of American Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale, and any other teen culture kind of store! Mall brands are cheap looking and you want to look rich, right?
  4. Keep your make-up clean and modest. Honestly, it depends on the occasion whether or not you go all out on makeup. Just buy drugstore sale makeup and have some flirty perfume as well.
  5. Shop by yourself. You need to be sure that friends don't see you searching the clearance racks. Try looking at classy, affordable stores like Forever21 and H&M. Try Nordstrom Rack too! Also, Sears has oodles of 'rich' looking clothes, shoes and bags.
  6. Have a cell phone that you discreetly check often. This is to be a bit modest, and like other teens.
  7. Learn proper etiquette and manners. You don't have to be like this all the time - you can still be wild and crazy with your friends - but at classy parties and events (if you go to any) act like a hostess or host and be polite and sociable.
  8. Wear jewelry. Never wear any plastic costume jewelry/play jewelry. Wear fake diamond earrings (check out the Tiffany websites and find out the certain style you can copy), try to find some good knock off Chanel 'c' earrings- make sure that nobody can tell they are fake! Try putting clear nail polish on fake jewels to protect them from tarnish or irritating your skin.
  9. Get an expensive designer bag or get a really good fake one. Either splurge or get a great knock off, and if you do find a good fake, never own up to it.
  10. Treat yourself to manicures and pedicures. If can, splurge a bit and get an expensive one every once in a while or get a cheaper pedicure/manicure often (even French manicures are good).

Tips

  • Never yell and be too loud. This just minimizes your class.
  • Remember to be yourself. Looking classy is not being shallow and it is not pretending. Don't listen to those people who notoriously say those things. They are jealous that they look like they're 12 yrs old wearing jeans and an American Eagle tee! You will have class and you dress for success. Be Mature!
  • Take the 'rich' change in baby steps. If you don't, people will know that it's all just a new style that you've started (unless you're are going to a new school and nobody there knows you).
  • Find sales. Sears is great for rich-looking clothing at much cheaper prices.
  • Study the show 'Gossip Girl', the girls in the show are great to copy styles from.

Warnings

  • Some people may be mean, because if they think you have money- they get really jealous.
  • Never talk down to anyone. But at the same time- Never look up either. Stand your ground and be assertive.
  • Rich girls tend to be divas and rebellious. Don't be either. Be classy!
  • People might find out that you really aren't rich and may call you a poser if you aren't careful.

Things You'll Need

  • Great skin, hair, style and a great handbag.
  • A great manicure and some kind of coffee or tea drink in hand- it just looks classy!
  • A Nordstrom to frequent, a city with high end stores...and a 'hair stylist' (aka. yourself.)
