Apply Black Eye Shadow

Black eyeshadow can be a head turner, and is absolutely stunning with any eye color. The hard part is you want it to look elegant, not trashy. Black eyeshadow looks amazing, whether you're going clubbing, going out with your girls, or a dinner date with your man! Black eyeshadow can bring your eyes out, or it can bury them. It depends on how you apply it, so here is how to achieve this amazing look!

Steps

  1. First, apply eye primer. This insures the eyeshadow and eye makeup will last longer and prevent the eyeshadow from gathering in your crease, causing an unattractive crease line.
  2. Pick out a black eye shadow that works the best for you; whether its liquid, powder, or cream. You can experiment to find what you like best.
  3. Dust your under eye with ample amount of loose powder. This will protect your face makeup from eyeshadow fall out.
  4. Apply a light silver color all over your eyelid to your brow bone, making sure its evenly applied.
  5. Take your black eye shadow and apply it all the way to your crease.
  6. Add something to it. Black eye shadow alone won't do much for you. You will have to incorporate a little more subtle shimmer with it. Try adding glitter or use a shimmer eyeshadow instead of matte.
  7. Take a white eye crayon or white shimmer eyeshadow and apply it to the corner of your eye to make the illusion of bigger eyes. This is called "highlighting". You can also try highlighting your brow bone using a cream or white. Shimmer eyeshadow work best for this purpose.
  8. If it's for a fun occasion, feel free to add some color! Use a a bright colored liquid eyeliner and apply to your top lash line.
  9. Dust off the loose powder on your under eye using fan brush.
  10. Now curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara or fake eye lashes if you desire. Keep in mind you don't want to look extremely trashy!
  11. Go get 'em, ladies! Also, remember confidence is more gorgeous than the makeup you wear!
