Apply False Eyelashes

Trim down individual false lashes or lash strips that are too long. Use an applicator or small brush to apply lash glue to the outer seam of the false lashes. Place the strip on your eyelid, right above your lashes. Allow the glue to dry. Apply mascara and liquid liner so your false lashes blend in more seamlessly.

Steps

  1. Size the lashes. Before gluing the lashes on, you will need to make sure they are not too wide for your eye. Hold the lash strips up against your eyelid, and trim them down on the sides if necessary.
    • If the lashes are too long for your personal taste, consider trimming the individual lashes down to achieve a more natural look. Lashes should be longer toward the outer corner of the eye.
  2. Apply the lash glue to the outer seam of the eyelash strip with an applicator or small brush. Allow the glue to dry for a moment before applying it to your lashes.
    • Alternatively, you can squeeze a thin line of lash glue onto the back of your non-dominant hand. Then, gently run the outer seam of the eyelash strip along it.
  3. Place the strip on your eyelid, positioning it as close as possible to your natural lashes. Bring the strip down from above, not from the front. This is to ensure that you get as close as possible to your lashline.[1]
  4. Allow the glue to dry naturally. Once the strip is in place, you do not need to press or hold it. [1]
  5. Apply mascara to your lashes. This will help blend your natural lashes with the false ones, achieving a more natural look. You can use black, brown, or dark gray mascara.
  6. Apply liquid eyeliner along your upper lids. Be sure to fill in any gaps between the false lashes and your own to make them look more natural. Use black, brown, or dark gray liner.
  7. Use makeup remover to remove false lashes. Dip a q-tip in eye makeup remover and gently rub it along your lash line. Allow the remover to sit for a minute, and gently pull off the strip.
  8. Finished.

Tips

  • You can reuse the fake eyelashes.
  • Remove them with water on cotton pads. It is the quickest, easiest, and cheapest way.
  • Remove false lashes before sleeping to avoid eye irritation.
  • Thoroughly clean and store the false lashes if you plan to use them again. Use a q-tip and eye makeup remover to clean off any remaining adhesive, eyeliner, or mascara.[2] Store lashes in the case they came in.
  • Apply a little mascara after the glue is dry.
  • Apply individual Get Long Luxurious Lashes the same way as strips of lashes. When applying them, start in the outer corner and work your way in.
  • It also helps to put glue on lashes for at least 15 seconds and blow on it before you put it on.
  • Apply false lashes in a well-lit area.
  • Make sure you put your eye makeup on before your eyelashes are glued down. Depending on how long and thick the eyelashes are, they might be difficult to put eye shadow on.
  • Apply eyeliner to fill in any gaps for a more natural look.
  • Draw eyeliner with a steady hand. An irregular line looks unprofessional and unappealing.
  • Use a toothpick to help "position" the lash in place if your fingers are unsteady.
  • If you don't want to use glue on false eyelashes you can use self-adhesive false eyelashes. Most self-adhesive false eyelashes come with a spare set of adhesive strips. This will allow you to apply false eyelashes without using glue.
  • If you'd like to skip wearing false eyelashes, you can curl your eyelashes. This will give you the look of false eyelashes. To curl your lashes use the wand from your mascara. Carefully move the wand across your lashes in a zig-zag motion. Then curl your lashes at the tips and hold the wand in place for a count of ten. Once you release the wand you'll have curly lashes.

Warnings

  • Be careful when you glue on false eyelashes. You don't want to accidentally glue your eyes shut.
  • Be sure to wash your hands before applying false lashes or other eye makeup.
  • If you use your mascara wand to curl your lashes to give you the look of false eyelashes be careful not to accidentally poke yourself in the eye.
  • Do not share false eyelashes or eye makeup, as this spreads germs from one eye to the other.
  • If you glue your eyes shut get to the ER to get your eyes unstuck.
  • If you get glue or makeup in your eye, immediately rinse it out with warm water.
