Be an On Site Document Services Rep at a Law Firm
Many mid to large sized law firms have a staff dedicated to handling the document production needed in the legal environment. This is especially true in corporate or litigation firms which generate huge amounts of documents during lengthy trials. Many law firms employ facility management companies to staff and manage their legal document support needs and have positions.
Steps
- Check your options. There are usually one or two companies that dominate each market. In big cities there may be several, target these companies first. The more law firms under contract the more options will be available to you.
- Dress for success. Law firms are notorious for strict dress codes. Wear a navy suit to your interview if possible. Business attire will help your interviewer envision you working at one their accounts.
- Look around. If hired, ask to be allowed to evaluate the account you are placed at before committing to a permanent assignment. Also, volunteer to "float' or fill in at other accounts that are short-handed.
- Get to know people. The boss will more likely promote you if your co-works like you too.
