Become a Hertz Club Member

Do you commonly rent from Hertz Rent a Car? You may be losing out on benefits that entitle you to get more from your rentals than just the car. Sign up for their club membership and get more back than just their rental car. This article will explain this process to you.

Steps

  1. Sign up online for a Hertz online account either upon first rental or without renting a car first. With only a few steps, you'll not only have an online account, but you'll have the membership too. Beginning at this page, give them your name, birthdate (ages 21 and up can join), credit card number (as debit card numbers aren't accepted),[1] driver's license ID number, and other applicable information such as your email address and password you'd like to use, phone numbers and address. With a few short clicks leading to a completion time of about 5-10 minutes, this part is fairly painless.
  2. Dial the number for Hertz and try to place a reservation. Most people in the United States and Puerto Rico can call 800-654-3131. All others must call 1-800-654-3001 to complete the details.[2] Tell the agent you'd like to sign up for a Hertz Club membership and they will ask you to give them the same information the web form has but in verbal form.
  3. Walk into a Hertz dealership and ask a register employee to set you up with a Club membership. Although some agents might hand you a brochure saying to send the mailing in via the postal service, most will create a new membership when you pick up your first rental. Some corporate Hertz locations (located at some International-style airports nationwide) will be able to sign you up on the spot, there are others that ask you to send in the postcard/post-brochure with this requested information (which was the same as those requested in the web form or verbal communication through the phone. Then any accumulated rental points you acquire before your application is processed will be added when the mailing is received and the account created.
