Care for Fingernails Naturally

Are your nails in need of some help? Or do you just fancy nice nails? Here are some ways to care for your nails at home.

Steps

  1. Keep your nails clean. Your nails are not going to grow if they are dirty and unhygienic.
  2. File your nails. File your nails once or twice a week. Only file in one direction. If you have a buffer then buff your nails (a buffer is a nail file with 4 different sides.)
  3. Soak your nails. This step is optional. Soak your nails for about 10 minutes in a bowl of oil (preferably olive oil) and salt. Once you have done that soak them in warm water mixed with salt. This should strengthen up your nails and make them healthier. Strong healthy nails = long nails!
  4. Paint your nails. If you have a hardening nail vanish, that is best, otherwise use a clear polish, base coat or top coat will work too. Paint your nails with the clear polish. Your nails will look really shiny! If your nails are long enough, paint underneath the tip of your nails for extra strength.

Tips

  • If you want to paint your nails afterward, make sure to apply a base coat or another clear polish so that your nails do not stain.
  • Never bite your nails!
  • Don't run your nails in between your teeth. This can strip the nail and push it back.
  • If you are right handed then use your right hand for left but if you are left handed your left if you are both then it will be easier but if you are terrible at the hand that is not as strong as your other then you might want to tell someone else what you want on your nails and have them do it you can.

Warnings

  • Do not file back and forth, because this could cause your nails to break.
  • Do not file too often.
  • Make sure your water is not too hot or you will burn yourself.
