Change Microsoft Office Product Key
Have you ever entered a pirated product key into your Microsoft Office? It can sometimes disable you from receiving critical updates, and support from Microsoft. A product key is a specific software-based key for a certain program. It is used to identify that the copy of the program is original. Product keys consist of a series of numbers or letters. This sequence is typically entered by the user during the installation of computer software, and is then passed to a verification function in the program. If you wish to acquire a licensed copy of Microsoft Office, you must change its product key to a genuine one.

Tips
- Write down the changes and initial values. You may later need to restore the Registry as it was.
- Consider Open Source alternatives for all proprietary software: OpenOffice.org is an office suite comparable or superior to the "Pro" versions of Microsoft Office, yet is free, as in both freedom and beer.
- Create a System Restore Point before trying out these instructions. It will allow you to restore your operating system, if anything goes wrong with the Delete a Program Completely by Modifying the Registry (Windows).
- Registry Editor allows you to personalize your computer, and make it more accessible.
- Back in step 4 right click the key of letters and numbers and choose Export. Give the file a name and keep it handy. Double-clicking the file in the future will bring all the deleted keys in the next step back. This is smaller and faster than a full restore of your computer. Further, you can edit this file in notepad and remove all BUT the two keys deleted in step five. Now you have a file to double-click which will exactly restore your deletions to the registry. You can double-click this file multiple times, it will only add them if they are missing, it won't add them multiple times.
Warnings
- Some associations in the Registry, if removed, will crash other functioning programs or Windows itself.
- Do not delete anything other than what is needed. You should Make and Restore a Backup of the Windows Registry beforehand.
- Avoid using Save Money on Computer Software by Using Free Software software to change the Product key. It might be malicious.
