Personalize a Computer when You First Buy It

Have you just bought a new computer, and hate the dullness of it? You want new backgrounds to get rid off that dullness? You're new to computers and don't know what to do? You came to the right place.

Steps

  1. Change your background. This can be achieved, either by right-clicking on the desktop, and select 'Properties', or by going to 'START', 'Control Panel', 'Appearance and Themes', and click on 'change the desktop background'. Choose any of the given backgrounds, or go onto the internet (if you have it), and Google things that you like, e.g. Lamborghini, fast car, etc.
  2. Change your screensaver. In the same window that you found the backgrounds, click on 'Screensaver' on the menu bar (bar at the top). If you want something different, again google '(what you like ) screensavers'.
  3. Change the appearance. The blue bars that line all windows you open can be changed to either silver (3D), lime green, or classic Windows style, that looks like Windows 95. This is again in the same window, and you just click on 'Appearance'.
  4. If you still don't like it, refer to 'Make a Windows Computer Look Like a Mac'.
  5. You can also download a program like Windowblinds to install and create your own themes

Tips

  • If you don't like it, experiment with different combinations until you do.
  • You can use your own digital photos as background or make them into a slideshow for your screen saver
  • If you can't find what you're looking for, then you'll have to live with a plain-looking desktop.
