Check and Fill Tire Pressure
This article will tell you how to check and fill tire pressure in a tire. You will require a tire pressure gauge and an air hose.
Steps
- Get out your tire pressure gauge, this is required.
- Go to one of the tires and take off the valve cap. Put it in your pocket or somewhere that you won't lose it.
- Take the end of the tire pressure gauge and press it into the valve stem. When you read the gauge for my tires, it should be at 34 PSI.
- To fill air in the tire, take the end of the air hose and press it up against the valve stem. To release air, what I do is take the gauge and put it on the valve stem but not all the way so that the hole can be opened and that the air can flow out.
- Everytime you fill air, check the pressure with the gauge to ensure you are putting in enough or taking out whats not needed.
- When the tire pressure is set to the correct PSI (34 PSI in my case) put the valve cap back on the valve stem. Put away the air hose when you are finished.
- Repeat with other tires if needed. Enjoy your new air.
Tips
- Digital tire pressure gauges can be easier to read other than standard tire gauges
Warnings
- Don't put too much air in
- Don't lose the tire valve cap when you take it off
- The PSI levels on tires are all different, find out what you need for your vehicle
