Clean Blueberries
Did you go out and pick blueberries and don't know how to clean them? It's very simple, as follows.
Steps
- Put the blueberries into a strainer. Pick out the stems.
- Turn the water on gently. It is best very cold.
- Put the strainer under the water. Shake the blueberries under the cold water, in the strainer.
- After shaking the blueberries, let the strainer sit under the water while you check again for stems, leaves, bugs, and so forth.
- Gently pat the blueberries dry with a paper towel or clean dish rag. Make sure you don't squish the blueberries. They're now ready to serve as they are, to add to desserts, or to use for baking.
- Finished.
- Finished.
Tips
- Make sure you get nice plump ripe dark blue almost purple blueberries and not sour tiny balls of sour, tart ones!
