Clean a Ball Computer Mouse
Computer mouses can get dirty over time, and sometimes dust in the cracks and roller can interfere with it's performance.
Steps
- Turn off the computer and unplug the mouse.
- Take out the ball by twisting the lid counterclockwise.
- Wash the ball with soap and warm water.
- Clean the bottom of the lid.
- Allow everything to dry for 5 minutes.
- Clean the outside. Use a toothpick to pick out dirt from the cracks in between the buttons.
- The thing that holds the ball you will see wheels in it turn the wheels if you see white things on it scrape it with your toothpick till it comes off
- Put the ball back inside and twist on the lid clockwise.
- Clean the Clean-a-Mousepad with a cloth.
- Plug the mouse back in to the computer.
Tips
- Optical mice require less maintenance but can be a bit pricey.
Warnings
- Be sure to unplug the mouse before cleaning.
