Clean a DVD Player

Does your DVD player need a spring clean? Don't know how to clean it? Read on...

Steps

  1. Remove any discs from the DVD player. These will likely get jammed if you forget to remove them.
  2. Unplug the DVD player from the mains and your TV, and remove it from its stand/case etc.
  3. Take a damp cloth and rub it gently across the top, front, and sides of your DVD player. NEVER wipe down the back of your DVD Player.
  4. If the back or underside of your DVD player is dirty, use a dry cloth to gently rub around all the ports and screws etc.
  5. Reconnect up the DVD player to the mains and TV.
  6. Now play through your 'lens cleaning disc'. This will gently remove any dirt inside the DVD player mechanism. This may take a while.
  7. You're done! You can now enjoy your movies a little bit more by knowing that your DVD player is clean.
