Clean a Messy Teenager's Bedroom

Messy rooms don't contribute to good sleeping, or studying for exams or tests. Parents don't like it when your room is dirty, and you probably don't enjoy it either. So read this article to find out how to make your parents happy, how to sleep better, and how to study better.

Steps

  1. Start by getting a good mind set, just say to yourself,I don't want to be in this environment and just think about how such a relief it would be for you in a beautiful bed with you being able to see your floor and it being your little habitat.
  2. Open your curtains, windows,or blinds to let some fresh air in.
  3. Put away everything from your bed that shouldn't be there, then take the sheets off and make your bed. When your bed is clean the whole room looks much more tidy.
  4. You have clothes on the floor, right? take those clothes and arrange them into two piles the dirty ones which need to go to the hamper and the clean pile which you need to fold and put in your closet.
  5. What else is in your room? Dirty towels go straight into the bathroom. Put all your books in a bookshelf, and see if the papers and letters are things you should keep or throw away.
    • Are there anymore items on your floor that shouldn't be there? Put the items back where they should be.
  6. Check out your desk, do you have any dirty dishes? Take them to the kitchen. Don't organize your desk yet, it will get you hung up on stuff and forget to clean other parts of the room.
  7. Look at your bookshelf, dresser and other spaces in the room, put everything in its place but remember to not organize yet.
  8. Now you have to check out your closet. If it is messy, you might have to take everything out from it and put it on the floor. It might make the room look untidy, but you have to clean the closet, because if the closet isn't clean the other parts of the room won't stay clean either. Put t-shirts in one place, pants in another, hang your dresses, and put everything on different shelves so it will be easier to find clothes when you're going to school next morning.
  9. When the closet looks tidy put in the other clean clothes from the pile on the bed.
  10. Now, start organizing open spaces, shelves, desks, dressers.
  11. Look around. Are there any cobwebs, or any dust on your desk or bookshelf? If so, clean it.
  12. Vacuum and swab your floor properly.
  13. Now for the final touch, you can add a nice fragrance to your room with a candle or an air freshener, Hmmm... now do you see the difference??Have fun in your nice and beautiful room just for you! Have fun cleaning!

Tips

  • Putting music on may relieve boredom.
  • Rearrange your room when you are done, for a fresh, cleaner new look!
  • Make a list of things you should do so you won't forget what other things you need to do after cleaning your room.
  • Tidy your room in sections. Split it up into about three parts, then focus on cleaning one of the parts. Once you've cleaned that part of your room, move onto another part, until all of your room is tidy.
