Create a Collage for a Birthday or Valentine's Day Card
Create a unique, personalized card for someone special. Show that you care and take the time to create something that reflects that individual's personality.
Steps
- Collect the materials (craft glue, card, paper, ribbon, leaves, gold leaf, etc.) that you want to use for your collage.
- Use a plain card large enough to create layers.
- Roughly tear strips of a couple of different types of papers. Different textures work as well as different colours. If you like the more geometric style, then cut shapes of the different paper.
- Glue them to the card on an angle or straight up and down however your imagination or creative mind desires.
- Glue some ribbon on the card.
- Glue a picture, happy birthday stamp, valentine heart or feather on a separate piece of card to accompany it.
- Finished.
Tips
- Make the collage and then cut out the shape for a good clean edge.
- Spritz perfume on the card for a yummy smell.
- Glitter, googly eyes, brightly coloured feathers, etc., are also great to put on the collage.
- Use any old gift paper, brown paper, and/or used birthday cards to get different texture and colours. Small things create centre points for the collage.
- If you make a mistake, don't erase it.Draw a heart or another shape around it and shade the shape really dark.
Warnings
- Let a layer dry completely before you add more glue and layers. The glue might come through some paper and not look very attractive. Let it dry and decide where the next piece of creativity should be glued.
