Create a Venmo Account on a PC or Mac
This article teaches you how to sign up for a Venmo account when you’re using a computer.

Steps
- Go to https://www.venmo.com in a web browser. You can use any web browser to access Venmo, such as Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.
- Select a sign-up method.
- Choose Sign up with Facebook link your Venmo profile to Facebook. This makes it easy to find your Facebook friends on Venmo.
- Choose email address to create a Venmo account that’s separate from Facebook.You can always link Venmo to Facebook later.
- Enter your personal information. No matter which signup method you selected, you’ll have to provide Venmo some personal information to get your account started. Fill out each blank in the form.
- Click Complete Signup. Venmo will now send you an SMS message containing a special security code. You’ll also see a browser window asking you to verify your phone.
- If you signed up with Facebook, you’ll see a pop-up window asking you to sign in to Facebook. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in, if so.
- Type the security code. You’ll find the code inside of the text message from Venmo.
- Click Verify Code. If the code was entered correctly, your account will be validated. A new window will appear, welcoming you to Venmo.
- If you didn’t receive the code, click Resend code to try again.
- To try a different phone number, click Change number.
- Click on the web. This brings you to the Venmo homepage, where you can now add contacts and adjust your settings.
- You can also use your new Venmo account to sign in to the mobile app.
