Request Money on Venmo on a PC or Mac

This article teaches you how to ask a Venmo user for money when you’re at your computer.

Steps

  1. Go to https://www.venmo.com in a web browser. You can use any modern web browser, such as Safari or Chrome, to access Venmo on your computer.
    • If you’re not signed in, click Sign In at the top-right corner of the screen, enter your login information, then tap Log in to Venmo.
  2. Click Charge. It’s near the top-left corner of the screen.
    • You can also find this button on your friend’s user profile. You can find your friend’s profile by searching for their name.
  3. Start typing the person’s name into the search box. As you type, potential matches will appear in the results.
  4. Click the person you want to charge. Their name will now appear in the “To:” field.
  5. Type the amount and a brief description. Both of these bits of information go into the text box below.
    • For example, “$0.01 for your thoughts,” or “$72 for the water bill.”
  6. Select a privacy setting. The default is Public, which means that your request will appear in the Venmo feed, visible to all Venmo users. To changed this, click the dropdown menu next to the “Charge” button and select Private or Friends.
  7. Click Charge. The person you're charging will be notified of your request.
