Cross One Eye at a Time

So you and your friends are bored, and have started trying to impress each other with minute and unnecessary abilities. You can impress your friends by showing them how to cross one eye at a time. Some people are completely in awe of the freakishness of this ability, while others can quickly figure out how easy it is. And now... so can you!

Steps

  1. Cross your eyes. If you can't do this, first visit this page.
  2. While keeping your eyes crossed, try to look to you're left with both eyes. Your left eye will be moving from the crossed position, while your right eye stays focused on your nose.
  3. Cross your eyes again (aka make your left eye look at your nose again). It will look like you individually moved just one eye at a time.
  4. Look to the right, using the same instructions. After that, go back to crossing your eyes.
  5. Continue in this pattern for as long as you want to (or can, because after a while this gives you a major headache!) and you will stun your friends!

Tips

  • This trick looks a lot cooler when you move your eyes slowly, and are not just darting left-center-right-center. Practice this and your trick will be even more amazing!
  • It's easy to get some practice on how much you are keeping your eyes crossed by picking focus points for your eyes: one eye being the inside of your nose, and the other being the person you are showing your new skill to.
  • Keep your eyes wide open, so your friends can actually see what you're doing. It won't be as awesome if your eyes are half shut because you're concentrating so hard.
  • Another method is to simply hold a pencil point about four inches away, directly in front of one eye or the other and focus on it, then take it away and try to keep your eyes in the same place

Warnings

  • If you strain your eyes a lot, you may find you can only do if for a short period of time, as your eyes will start to ache!
  • If you cross your eyes for too long or otherwise strain yourself, you could develop a bad headache.
