Click Your Tongue

Have you ever wondered how people can click their tongues so loudly? If you can't click your tongue, or just want to perfect the skills of your tongue click, then this is the article for you. The tongue click is also used in some African languages.

Steps

  1. Simply, put the tip of your tongue behind your upper set of teeth. The tip of your tongue should rub against the gums.
  2. Now, suck in the air in your mouth, creating a small vacuum, or pocket of air behind your tongue. You should feel your tongue tighten or strain a bit.
  3. Simultaneously bring your tongue down and open your mouth.
  4. If this doesn't help, cup the front of your tongue (it should go upwards)
    1. Place it at the roof of your mouth (behind your teeth)
    2. Suction (while it's still cupped) and release (Go back not straight down).
    3. Your tongue shouldn't come down completely flat.



Tips

  • Make sure your mouth is moist.
  • If the clicking sound isn't loud enough, pull your tongue down with your jaw harder.

Warnings

  • You might bite your tongue.
  • Spittle may fly.
  • People may get annoyed if you do it too often.
