Delete Tracking Cookies
Tracking cookies are bits of text stored on a personal computer with information sent from a web browser. The text stores information about the user such as preferences or contents from a shopping cart. Many people want to delete tracking cookies from their computer, because they feel it's an invasion of their privacy. Others feel like these bits clutter computer space. There are several different methods you might use to delete tracking cookies.

Steps
Delete Cookies in Chrome
- Start Chrome and select the menu. The menu button will be in the top right hand corner and will resemble three horizontal lines.
- Select “Settings”. This will bring up a new window with your settings.
- Select “Clear Browsing Data”. There will be a number of headings in the Settings window. Scroll down until you see the heading “Privacy”. It may be necessary to scroll to the bottom and select “Show advanced settings...” first. On the line below the “Privacy” heading, you will see the button marked “Clear Browsing Data”. Click it.
- Choose what to delete. First you will need to select how far back you want your data cleared, then you will need to select what type of data you want to clear. Be careful what options are selected, as you may not wish to delete stored passwords or autofill settings.
- Select “Clear Browsing Data” again. At the bottom of the menu, you will see a button again marked “Clear Browsing Data”. When you have selected all of the options you want, press that button and you are done.
- Fine tune your settings. You can change how Chrome handles cookies by going into the advanced settings. Instead of choosing the first “Clear Browsing Data” option, click the button labeled “Content settings...” directly under the “Privacy” heading. The first several options will let you control how the system handles cookies.
