Do a Rocket Start in Mario Kart Wii

You're at the starting line, the countdown has begun and you want to take an early lead when the word GO! appears? No Problem! This article will show you how a rocket start is done, Mario Kart Wii style!

Steps

  1. Select your game mode, type of engine class, character, vehicle and drift type.
  2. Next, you select a track to perform the trick.
  3. When you reach the starting line and when the countdown begins, get ready to use it!
  4. Once the pre-race timer reaches 2, press the accelerator button (2 for Wii Wheel, A for Gamecube Controller).
    • You can also press it when the 2 is starting to fade. Don't release the button!
  5. Time it just right and... ROCKET START!!



Tips

  • If you let go before "GO!" then it will not work.
  • The boost you can get varies in length depending when you hold down 2. As soon as 2 in the countdown appears, press 2 or A for maximum effect.

Warnings

  • If you press 2 or A too early, you will get a dud start. Your vehicle will give off smoke, and will only move after 3/4 seconds without a rocket boost.
