Draw a Banner
A banner is a flag bearing a symbol, logo, slogan or other message. This tutorial will show you how to draw a banner in six simple steps.
Steps
- Draw a rectangle. It should look sort of like a doormat, with the front corners slightly bigger/more slanted than those in the back.
- Add two smaller rectangles over the initial rectangle's front edges. These should be smaller but more vertically lengthy than the first rectangle, as seen here.
- Under the rectangles from step 2, draw miniature upside-down triangles. These will serve as the first curves of your banner.
- Outline the shape of the banner. Draw the curves of the banner over the sketched polygons.
- Line the drawing with black ink. Try to make a modular line, which passes from a thin to a thick line and vice versa. This will make your drawing look better and more professional.
- Add text, a symbol, or pictures to the banner.
- Color it! Erase the pencil and add in color.
Tips
- If you want to use markers/watercolors to color your drawing, use paper that is relatively thick and line over your pencil more darkly before doing so.
- Draw lightly in pencil so that you can easily rub out mistakes.
