Drift a Bike Without Using Your Brakes
Want to drift on your bike, without using your brakes? It takes some practice but it's doable.
Steps
Lowering Your Gears
- Start the bike and ride at the speed of about 30-40 mph.
- When you are about enter a curve and want to drift, just disengage the clutch and shift to a low gear.
- Engage the clutch, and deceleration will cause you to drift. When you are leaving the turn, hold the clutch midway and shift.
- Quickly pick up speed. With some practice you should be able to do it!
Using Technique
- When you start your bike, make sure the wheels are in good condition and there is a bit of wear and tear at the sides.
- Pick up speed and go on a high gear so that you can ride in a relaxed way.
- When you are about to take a turn, shift down and slow.
- Lean into the turn and immediately shift up and hit the throttle.
- If you know how to clutchless shift, it is easier to hold 1/4 the clutch and try it out.
Tips
- Try and practise on no-traffic road or a place with a lot of mud.
Warnings
- Please wear your protection gear and have a first aid kit and few friends nearby.
