Drift a Bike Without Using Your Brakes

Want to drift on your bike, without using your brakes? It takes some practice but it's doable.

Steps

Lowering Your Gears

  1. Start the bike and ride at the speed of about 30-40 mph.
  2. When you are about enter a curve and want to drift, just disengage the clutch and shift to a low gear.
  3. Engage the clutch, and deceleration will cause you to drift. When you are leaving the turn, hold the clutch midway and shift.
  4. Quickly pick up speed. With some practice you should be able to do it!

Using Technique

  1. When you start your bike, make sure the wheels are in good condition and there is a bit of wear and tear at the sides.
  2. Pick up speed and go on a high gear so that you can ride in a relaxed way.
  3. When you are about to take a turn, shift down and slow.
  4. Lean into the turn and immediately shift up and hit the throttle.
    • If you know how to clutchless shift, it is easier to hold 1/4 the clutch and try it out.
