Eat Very Quickly

Consuming food quickly can be a great talent to show off to your friends. And besides, who has the time to eat slowly? Follow this guide and you will amaze others with your ravenous food consumption in no time!

Steps

  1. Start with a large portion of food and a tall glass of water in front of you. Choose a food that you can consume quickly -like macaroni and cheese, or pizza. Food with bones can be dangerous and slow going.
  2. Visualize the food being broken down and filling your belly. Say to yourself, "I can do this! I can eat you very quickly!"
  3. Use your hands if possible, otherwise choose an eating utensil that is large enough. Avoid sharp or overly pointy utensils.
  4. When you're really psyched, dig in! Practice taking bigger bites than usual. Chew well enough to get the food ready to swallow, but don't take all day. Be efficient with your chewing -don't chew the same place twice. Always break up the larger pieces into smaller ones! Don't waste time biting your lip or cheek. This really throws you off!
  5. Swallow! Get ready with the water or the next bite while swallowing. Don't waste any time! Water really helps the swallowing to happen faster without forcing. Use water every three mouth fulls.
  6. Continue until you have finished the meal, or you are too full. When you are done, raise your fists up into the air in triumph! Come up with something really cool to say, for example, "Take that, you plate of food, you're in my belly!"

Tips

  • Don't waste time talking or looking around. You have to really focus.
  • Start slower and work your way up. Nobody becomes a speed eater on the first try. Every meal should be faster and faster.
  • Practice in front of a mirror. You might find a flaw in your technique that can help you to eat faster. Are you using both hands? Is your jaw moving efficiently?
  • Chew with your mouth open if that helps. If any food falls out you can just eat that next.
  • Don't talk too much! It will get you distracted and you won't be able to finish quicker. You could talk a bit, but make sure your more focused on eating!

If that doesn't work for you, then try thinking of eating as a race! If your friends with someone who eats faster than you, then make it your goal to beat their speed. But eating slowly is better because it allows more time for digestion so unless you are in a huge rush, eating too fast can be harmful. Just be careful!

  • If you chew so fast, it might still be big pieces so you should chew a bit more slowly, but that dosen't mean chew for an hour.
  • Eating too fast can cause hiccups or you could choke if you try to swallow too much at once.
  • Eat when you are hungry. You will consume food quicker.
  • If you're not hungry, don't do it. It's not fair if you force food that you don't want to eat down your throat. Wait for a good time like dinner time or eat it as a snack.

Warnings

  • Do not eat so fast that you choke! Never try this without someone nearby that can help you if you are choking.
  • Too much speed eating is linked to intestinal failure, gastric rupture, and indigestion. Moderation is recommended.
  • If you wear false teeth, this might not be the thing for you. You should keep to regular eating, and soft things if possible.
