Take Off
- The first thing you need to know about Concorde is that you can lower the nose. There are no flaps on Concorde, so you control the nose like flaps.
- Concorde's nose has four stages:
- Nose and visor up - For Flying and Parking
- Visor Down - For Subsonic Cruise
- Nose 5 Degrees down - Taxiing and Take Off
- Nose All of the Way Down - For Landing
- Concorde's nose has four stages:
- For Take Off Lower the nose to 5 Degrees down (The Third Stage)
- Align the Airplane to the runway
- Apply Full Throttle and Steer down the runway using the Rudder
- When you reach about 220 knots slowly pull back on the stick. When you are in the air bring the landing gear up and bring the nose up one step.
- Hold a climbing rate of about 2000 ft/min at around 250 knots.
Supersonic Cruise
- When you reach about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} apply the afterburner (CTRL+F)
- Keep climbing until you reach Concorde's cruise altitude which is between 55,000 and 60,{{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}}.
- Bring the nose up fully and keep accelerating until you reach Mach 2.0. Try not to go any faster.
Approach
- Start descending a few hundred nautical miles away from the airport.
Landing
- Start to slow down to about 175 knots and as you approach the runway, lower the landing gear and the nose fully.
- When the main gear touch down on the runway, activate reverse thrust (Ctrl+B) and apply full throttle until the airplane stops.
- Apply the parking brake and bring the nose up fully.
Tips
- You should get used to flying airplanes like the Boeing 777-200ER before trying Concorde, to get used to the basic controls for flying.
