Get Free Music from Project Playlist Using DownloadHelper

Project Playlist is a website where people can share and create their own playlists by adding song links to a music list. This list can also be embedded and shared through other sites, such as Myspace, Blogger, or any other website that accepts embedded codes. There is a way to download music from playlists to store it on your hard drive.

DownloadHelper is only currently available for use on Firefox.

Steps

  1. Download and install DownloadHelper from this link. If you don't want frames, you can also get it through the main Firefox's Add-On page from here.
  2. Go to "View" located on the top of your internet browser. Click on "Toolbars" and then "Customize". Drag your "DownloadHelper" icon (it looks like an atom) to your toolbar. It can go anywhere you desire to your convenience.
  3. Configure your preferences. Enable the "Icon Animation" (the icon will "turn on" and animate when media is capable of downloading) and choose a download directory to place all of your media while using DownloadHelper.
  4. Go to Project Playlist's website: http://www.playlist.com/ .
  5. Search for the artist or title of the song that you want.
  6. Double check on the information and listen to the song to see if it's the correct one. Some people use the wrong links with the song you're looking for. When the song starts to play, watch as the DownloadHelper icon starts to animate.
  7. Click on the icon and choose the most bottom item on the list. This is the most current song that you are listening to. If you happened to listen to more than one song on a page, the most current will still be on the bottom.
  8. Get a pop-up of where you want the download to go to.
  9. Note that you can change the file name after it's been downloaded.

Tips

  • Know that all songs on Project Playlist are from third party websites and not actually uploaded directly on Project Playlist. Song links can be deleted without notice to users and a person can receive an error message if the deleted song is in an embed playlist.
