Get Poké Miles in Pokémon (Gen 6)

Poké Miles are useful in-game currency in Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby, and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. This currency can be exchanged for useful items; such as Rare Candies, PP Ups, and Ethers. Confused about how to get started? Read on!

Steps

Wonder Trading

  1. Catch/breed a Pokémon you think people will enjoy. Since Wonder Trade is a random Pokémon trade, many offer common wild Pokémon like Zigzagoon or Fletchling. Give someone a surprise! Try trading previous generation Pokémon, Pokémon with perfect IVs (individual values), Vivillion (they have different patterns depending on region, so they are collectible) or even spreading Pokérus!
  2. Connect to the internet. Internet is required to Wonder Trade.
  3. Go to the Player Search System (or PSS for short) and click on "Wonder Trade".
  4. Click "Start a Wonder Trade".
  5. Deposit your Pokémon. Be careful! You are almost guaranteed to never get this Pokémon back, so Wonder Trading legendaries is generally not advised.
  6. Continue until desired Poké Miles amount. You can find your current Poké Miles on your trainer card; along with other information.
  7. Trade in your Poké Miles.
    • In Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, you can trade in your Poké Miles in one of the Lumiose City Pokémon Centers by talking to a older-looking man in a purple suit.
    • In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, you trade in your Poké Miles by talking to a man with the gentleman sprite in Mauville City.

Walk around in-game

  1. Breed Pokémon. 1000 steps in-game = 1 Poké Mile, so this is the least effective method, although Wonder Trading depends on the distance between you and the other trader, generally you will get 50-150 Poké Miles per Wonder Trade. Since Pokémon eggs take time and steps to hatch, you can get Poké Miles and new Pokémon at the same time!
  2. Find an in-game loop. In Pokémon X and Y, there is a loop around Prism Tower in Lumiose City. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, you can press the up button when going around the island at the Battle Resort, and as long as you hold that button you will go in an infinite loop.

Warnings

  • Using in-game loops can damage your Nintendo 3DS system, especially when sticking in foreign objects.
