Have Wavy Hair Without Using Hair Products
Wavy hair can be achieved without using hair care products or expensive and high maintenance tools. Wavy hair can be achieved using either dry or wet hair, during the day or as you sleep overnight.

Steps
Braiding for wavy hair
- Brush your hair and split it in two, or a few large sections, and bring round to the front, so both of the sections are equal.
- Braid each side, quite tightly, all the way to the end as far as you can braid.
- Tie the ends with a bobble to keep them in place.
- Get a good night's sleep!
- Wake up and take the braids out. You should now have lush waves. Apply hair spray to keep in place or just leave it naturally.
- Style your hair how you like - have it down with a funky hair band for a cute look!
- You can do this when your hair is wet, then add a little cream, use a hairdryer to make it half-dry, then sleep! It will last a little longer then.
- If not done overnight, wet your hair with cream and a tiny bit of gel/conditioner, do the braiding, then blow dry it with heat. Leave it in as long as possible, then take it out. Not as good as overnight, though.
- Finished.
Elastics
- Gather together a bunch of hair elastics.
- Brush out your damp hair gently.
- Separate your hair into a few different sections.
- Twist the sections into little balls on your head, rather like snails.
- Leave them in all night.
- Wake up to gorgeous waves/curls.
Double trouble
- Grab two rubber bands and a couple of bobby pins. The size doesn't matter.
- Part your dampened hair into two even sections.
- Grab either the left or the right side of hair. Twist it.
- Then twist the hair around itself, forming it into a bun. Do this very tightly.
- Tie the tie around the twist.
- Repeat for the other side.
- If any pieces of hair fall out, simply bobby pin them into the twist.
- Sleep with the buns in. Wake up with voluminous curly hair.
Tips
- For an all over wave, do French Braids.
- For loose waves do the plaits loose; for tight waves do the plaits tight.
- If you don't have time to wash your hair in the morning, wash it at night, put it in plaits and your hair will be dry and ready to style the next day.
- Make sure your hair isn't sopping wet only damp so that when you plait your hair it will dry by the next morning.
- also if you want do 2 regular braids on each side to have the more fuller look without having to know how to french braid
- Let your hair air dry for at least 10 minutes before braiding because if it's soaking wet it won't dry by morning. The moisture in the braid will stay.
- Use Dutch braids for fuller, bouncier waves. You can find tutorials on YouTube that show you how to do Dutch braids.
- Pin in or curl the hair and allow to sit overnight.
Warnings
- Also if your hair is frizz prone you may want to use an anti frizz serum before you start.
- Don't brush or comb hair! This will frizz it. Instead, run your fingers through your hair to get rid of tangles (though there shouldn't be as you've had your hair in plaits all night)
- If you have "fine" hair, or hair that easily breaks, and is easily pulled out, only do this sparingly. Wait a couple weeks before you do it again. Besides, you don't want to wear the style out. Wet hair, un-brushed hair, and (the least damaging) leaving your hair up while sleeping, especially in tight plaits, can pull at hair, and cause breakage, and awful fly-aways.
