Hit a Home Run in Wii Sports

If you're into baseball but not into running Wii Sports baseball is for you. In training mode you can practice hit after hit without ever having to run the bases.

Steps

  1. Hold the bat high and behind you as far as it gets. Use both hands if you wish, although you can swing faster with one hand. Holding it high will allow you a larger swing and so the more power you will be able to get into it. However holding the Wii remote low and hitting up will allow you to hit the ball higher, and so increase your chance of a home run. The only downside to this is that its harder to see the pitcher.
  2. Time it right. You don't want to swing too early nor too late. It may take longer to swing because the bat is probably farther behind you than you are used to, so start a little bit early.
  3. Come in straight and try for square contact with the ball.
  4. Follow through. Finish the swing.

Tips

  • The program records the total number of home runs you have ever gotten.
  • You can also hit an out of the park, and that counts as a home run.
  • Always stand in a sideways stance from your TV like you would in baseball.

Warnings

  • Always use the wrist strap.
  • Keep a tight grip on the Wii remote as faster swings make it more likely that it will fly out of your hand.
  • Make sure no objects or people are around you while you swing.
