Install Sheepskin Car Seats

Sheepskin car seats offer a multitude of advantages. They are known to reduce stress, provide warmth, and massage your back while you drive. They are comfortable in both cold and warm weather periods and are easy to keep clean as they can be machine washed.

Steps

  1. Start by pulling the seat cover over the shoulder of the seat. Smooth out the sides and backrest of the seat and make sure the cover is centered.
  2. Push the center straps through space between backrest and seat cushion. At the same time reach around and pull the straps through. This can be facilitated by either tilting seat backrest to increase the space or by kneeling on cushion.
  3. Pull center straps and hook them to the underside of the seat. This hook can be fastened to the springs or any metal edges, wire, etc. Do not use the electrical wires or the sliding track of seat to fasten the hooks.
  4. Attach the straps. Look for anchor spots then keep your head well out of the way when pulling and fastening straps or else you could get hurt by a sudden release of the straps.
  5. Push the side straps through center at each side of the seat. Pull down and back, hooking to the underside of the seat. Do not put straps in the way of the sliding tracks.
  6. Pull the seat cover forward and smooth it out over the seat cushions and the sides. Pull the straps at front and hook to underside of the seat
  7. Sit on the sheepskin car seats to make sure cover has assumed proper position on the seat.

Tips

  • If your vehicle is a two door model, in other words the seats move forward to access the back, then leave enough slack for the seat to move. If the straps are too tight, they will break when the seat is moved forward.
  • Most vehicles will have removable headrests on the seat and can be easily removed for installation. Once the sheepskin car seats are installed, make a small cut with a sharp knife to put the headrest back into place. This can be done from sitting in the back of the seat. Line up the knife with the headrest holes in the seat and then lift up the sheepskin away from the seat and cut the holes. Make sure you cut through the sheepskin and lining.

Warnings

  • If you break the straps during installation, the manufacturer will likely not assume any responsibility for damage.
