Join a Discord Server on a PC or Mac

This article teaches you how to connect to a Discord server when you’re using a computer.

Steps

  1. Copy the server’s invite URL. You must have an invite URL to join a Discord server. If you don’t know anyone who can invite you, visit https://www.discordlist.net, highlight the entire invite link next to the server you want to join, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+C (macOS).
    • Invite links begin with https://discord.gg.
  2. Go to https://www.discordapp.com in a web browser. If you aren’t already signed in, sign in now.
  3. Click the +. It’s in the left column, near the top of the screen.
  4. Click Join a Server. It’s the green button.
  5. Paste the invite URL into the blank. To do this, click the blank, then press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+V (macOS) to paste.
  6. Click Join. It’s the green button at the bottom-right corner of the white window. You are now connected to the Discord server.
