Keep Your Home Smelling Fresh
Leaving a wonderful fresh scent as you clean your home is easily done at the same time that you are dusting, wiping and vacuuming.
Steps
- Remove any trash or dirty laundry. Best way to keep a house smelling fresh is not having bad odors.
- Wash the dishes and wipe down any greasy residues on kitchen.
- Sanitize restrooms and clean spills daily if possible.
- Use fabric softener sheets to dust knick-knacks, TVs, computers (no static cling) and other surfaces in your house.
- Wipe and dust all surfaces, clean all dust and fibers that accumulate odors.
- Sprinkle simple baking soda and some baby power lightly over the carpet before vacuuming.
- Use real lemon juice to wipe mirrors and windows.
- Pour a couple of drops of your favorite body oil on light bulb to give warm light scent.
- Stick cloves into orange peels (on the orange) and place these around the house.
- Boil a few whole cinnamon sticks and let them simmer in the hot water. They will give off an appealing aroma throughout the house, making it more attractive to guests.
- Finished.
Tips
- Try to keep the fragrances you choose light.
- Place fabric softener sheets over heating vents in the window. This filters out dust and makes a pleasant fresh scent.
- Make homemade potpourri for long-lasting and effective, natural scent. This is better for your health than using electrical scent dispensers.
Warnings
- Don't overdo or overuse scents.
Do NOT put anything wet (oils) on HOT light bulbs, they could explode! Put them on when the bulb is cold; when turned on and they heat up, the scent will diffuse into the room.
