Make Bisquick Mix Pancakes

Few things are better than starting the day with a delicious batch of pancakes. No matter how you like to eat them, Bisquick makes them easy. Follow these simple steps.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (240 grams) Original Bisquick® mix
  • 1 cup (240 milliliters) milk
  • 2 eggs

Steps

  1. Heat griddle or skillet over a medium-high heat. If you are using an electric griddle, heat to 375°F (190°C). You know it's hot enough when a few drops of water sprinkled on it sizzle and disappear.
  2. Grease with cooking spray or shortening.
  3. Whisk the ingredients together. Be careful not to over mix -- you still want lumps. They leaven the batter as it cooks resulting in fluffier pancakes. Over-mixing the batter will produce thin pancakes.
  4. Pour just under 1/4 cupfuls onto a hot griddle. Cook until edges are dry and bubbles start to form on top.
  5. Flip them over and cook until golden.
  6. Finished. Serve with butter and syrup or whipped cream and fresh berries.

Tips

  • Adding 1 1/2 cups milk (350 ml) instead of one cup (240 ml) will make the pancakes thinner.
  • Heat the oven to 200°F (93.3°C) and put the pancakes in the oven on a cookie sheet lined with paper towels. This will allow you keep the pancakes warm if they are not served immediately.
  • To prepare a fun and vibrant recipe for kids, add a few drops of food coloring or pour in a tablespoon of colored sprinkles into the pancake batter.
  • Do not keep flipping the pancakes back and forth. Only cook them once on each side. Repeatedly flipping the pancakes will give them a tough, brown covering.
  • If you want to freeze the pancakes and eat them for later, wrap them in aluminum foil or place them in a freezable bag after they have cooled. They will last for up to a month. To reheat just place them on a baking sheet, cover them with foil, and heat them at 350°F (180°C) for 10 minutes.
  • Avoid over-whisking the pancakes or they will end up rubbery and dry once cooked.
