Make Deep Fried Spareribs

Deep-fried spareribs? Yes! They aren't just for the grill, they are delicious deep fried with peanut sauce or just plain old barbecue sauce!

Ingredients

  • 1 rack pork spareribs
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
  • Peanut oil for deep frying

Steps

  1. Wash and dry ribs thoroughly.
  2. Combine the remaining ingredients (except oil) in medium-sized bowl.
  3. Place about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} of oil in large pot and heat to 375 degrees.
  4. Remove individual ribs from rack with a sharp knife.
  5. Lightly dredge ribs through flour mixture 2 or 3 at a time and place in deep fryer.
  6. Do not place more than 4 ribs in your pot at a time; you want them to deep fry crispy. Too many at a time will cause them to steam.
  7. Fry about 2 to 3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on wire rack.
  9. Serve with your favorite sauce.

Tips

  • Make sure to dry meat thoroughly when deep frying. Water can cause the oil to splatter and cause serious burns.
