Make Emoji Jars

We use emojis in our lives every day. There are emoji shirts, emoji phone cases, and even emoji jars. Surprise a loved one with one of these to make their day. These jars can also be used as room decor or storage.

Steps

  1. Clean out some baby food jars. Add some soapy water to the jars and scrub them with a sponge. Then, rinse with water until the jars are completely clean and don't smell bad anymore.
  2. Squirt some yellow paint into the jars. Using a bright yellow paint, pour enough paint to thinly coat the insides of the jars.
  3. Tilt the jars around until their insides have been completely coated. Put the lids back on the jars and begin to shake them up and down. This will help to distribute the paint. Maintain a firm grip to avoid dropping any of the jars.
  4. Get rid of any excess paint. Open up the jar and check to see if there is any excess paint. Pour the excess paint back into the paint bottle to reuse it later for another craft.
  5. Allow the jars to dry. Place the jars onto a table and them allow to dry for an hour or until the paint is no longer wet.
  6. Add an emoji face. Using a small paint brush and some acrylic paint, along with a black marker, draw an emoji expression onto the outside of the jar. Draw any emoji you want such as the laughing emoji, the heart eye emoji, or even the classic smiley emoji. The possibilities are endless!
  7. Allow them to dry. Set the jars back onto a table and allow them to dry for an hour or until the paint is no longer wet.
  8. Finished! Fill the jars with pencils or other materials, or give them out to your friends.

Tips

  • Wrap the jars up nicely if you plan of gifting them to someone.
  • Set up a fan to make the paint dry faster.
  • Make any emoji you want. It doesn't have to be a yellow one.
  • It's a good idea to wear clothes you don't mind getting messy so you don't ruin the clothes you like.
