Make Fried and Spicy Bread Potato Bites
These spicy, crunchy snacks can be great for snacking, served at parties or eaten to accompany any other dishes. The chillies and coriander make this exotic and spicy yet the simple white sliced bread and mashed potatoes keep it filling and cheap to make. Ingredients
- Potatoes
- Bread Slices
- Coriander Leaves
- Green Chillies
- Red Chilli Powder
- Garam Masala Powder
- Oil
- Salt
Steps
- Peel, chop and boil two big potatoes, then drain and mash them.
- Add salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, chopped green chillies and chopped coriander leaves to the potatoes you have mashed.
- Mix it all well.
- In a bowl, take some water, take a bread slice and dip it in the water for a few seconds.
- Press the slice of bread with your palms to squeeze water.
- Put 2 teaspoons of the mashed potato filling on the wet slice of bread.
- Roll the wet slice of bread (with potato filling in it) and then seal the edges of the bread so that the filling does not come out.
- Repeat the same steps with other slices of bread.
- Heat some cooking oil in a suitable pan or turn on a deep fat fryer.
- Deep fry the rolls on medium flame / heat until they turn golden brown.
- Take them out of the vessel and put them on a paper napkin so that the excess oil is absorbed.
- Serve the hot and yummy bread rolls with cilantro chutney and tomato sauce.
Warnings
- Do not fry the rolls on high flame, as the rolls will not get fried properly and the outer part of the roll turns black in colour.
